See the classroom. Support the teacher.
Treat Your Teacher gives parents a free daily window into their child's classroom — photos, videos, updates from the teacher and the kids themselves. And when parents want to show appreciation, contributing to their teacher's gift fund takes 30 seconds. No awkward cash. No more unwanted gift cards.
Teacher gifts are broken. Classroom apps aren't much better.
Parents reach for Starbucks gift cards. Teachers smile and say thank you. Then they spend the $15 on classroom supplies they were going to buy anyway.
Gift cards feel impersonal
84% of parents default to Amazon or Starbucks. Teachers politely accept, privately wish for something else.
Cash feels awkward
Handing someone money feels transactional. So parents give less than they want to, or nothing at all.
Teachers buy their own supplies
$479/year out of pocket. Parents have no idea. The appreciation gap is real.
Here's how it works.
For every person who works in a school — teachers, counselors, librarians, coaches, custodians, cafeteria staff, and more. If you work in a school, you deserve this.
Set up your profile in 5 minutes
Create your staff profile, add your role, and build a wish list — books, supplies, a coffee fund, anything you actually want. Teachers can also post classroom updates.
Families connect to you — for free
Parents find you by school and name. They follow your updates, react to your posts, and see the Star of the Day moments you celebrate. No cost to anyone.
Contributions roll in — you didn't ask for a thing
Families contribute when they want — Teacher Appreciation Week, holidays, birthdays, or just because. 20 families giving $10 a few times a year adds up. You just cash out.
Find your child's teacher
Search by school and teacher name. Connect to your child's classroom in 30 seconds.
See the classroom, every day
Photos, videos, newsletters — a real feed of what your child is learning. No more "What did you do at school today?" "Nothing."
Contribute when you want — your child delivers the moment
When the occasion is right, contribute any amount to your teacher's gift fund. No awkward envelopes. Your child gets a printable card to hand-deliver — they'll love it.
20 families × $10 × 3 occasions per year = $600 per teacher. The national average? $250 of stuff they didn't want.
The app parents actually come back to.
Every other school app collects dust after week two. This one has your kid in it.
Here's the truth about school communication apps: nobody opens them. They're clunky, they send too many notifications about things that don't matter, and the good stuff — the photos, the videos, the moments — is either buried or locked behind a paywall.
Treat Your Teacher is the feed you actually want to check. Your child's teacher posts real updates about what's happening in the classroom. Not automated behavior reports. Not form letters. Real moments from your kid's actual day — and sometimes, a 30-second video your kid recorded just for you.
- Photos and updates from the classroom
- Weekly newsletter in the feed
- What they're learning this week
- Student video messages — teachers reward kids with a 30-second video home
- 100% free for parents and teachers
Three views. One platform.
For teachers who want to be appreciated. For parents who want to stay connected. For kids who want to be celebrated.
Your staff deserves to feel this. You deserve to see it.
Treat Your Teacher gives every principal a live dashboard showing appreciation across every teacher, counselor, librarian, coach, and support staff — all in one place. Zero cost to the school.
Everything across your building. One dashboard.
When you enroll your school, you get a real-time view of appreciation activity across your entire staff — not just teachers, but counselors, librarians, coaches, custodians, cafeteria workers, and everyone who makes your building run. See who's being celebrated. Amplify the moments that matter.

Frequently asked questions.
What is Treat Your Teacher?
Treat Your Teacher is a free platform for school communication and staff appreciation. Parents get a daily feed of their child's classroom at no cost. Every school staff member — teachers, counselors, librarians, coaches, custodians, cafeteria workers, and more — can create a profile, build a wish list, and receive contributions from the families they serve. Businesses can sponsor local schools. Principals get a school-wide appreciation dashboard.
Is Treat Your Teacher only for classroom teachers?
No — it's for every person who works in a school. Teachers, counselors, librarians, coaches, PE teachers, art and music teachers, custodians, cafeteria workers, and administrators can all create a profile and receive appreciation from the families they serve. You don't need to be a classroom teacher. If you work in a school, you belong here.
How much does it cost?
Free for everyone. Parents access the classroom feed at no cost. All school staff and principals use the platform for free. When parents choose to contribute to a staff member's gift fund, the platform takes a small transaction fee — that's how we keep the lights on. No subscription, no monthly bill.
How do staff members get paid?
Your gift fund accumulates from parent and business contributions — Teacher Appreciation Week, holidays, birthdays, end of year, or anytime someone feels like it. You can cash out at any time. The money is yours to spend however you choose — supplies, personal items, books, whatever you want.
What does the class feed include?
Teachers post whatever they want to share — photos from class activities, short videos, weekly newsletters, project updates, and learning milestones. It's a real window into the classroom, not automated reports or behavior tracking.
How is this different from ClassDojo or other school apps?
ClassDojo focuses on behavior management. Other apps paywall your child's photos. Treat Your Teacher is purely about classroom communication and staff appreciation — a daily feed with no bait-and-switch, a gift fund for every school staff member (not just teachers), a principal dashboard, and a business sponsorship program. No behavior tracking. No paywalls.
Is this allowed by my school district?
Yes. Treat Your Teacher is designed to comply with school district gift policies. Contributions are framed as community appreciation, not individual payments to staff. Each parent contribution is treated as a separate gift from a separate source, which means typical district reporting thresholds are rarely triggered. We work directly with administrators to ensure compliance with local policies before launch.
What do staff members see — do they know how much each parent gave?
Staff members see their total gift fund balance and wish list progress (e.g., "You received a book from the Johnson family"). They do not see dollar amounts from individual families. This keeps the experience about appreciation, not obligation.
What does a principal see in the dashboard?
Principals get a school-wide view showing appreciation activity across all enrolled staff — total contributions, parent engagement rate by classroom, contribution trends by occasion, and Star of the Day frequency. Principals can also use the Spotlight tool to publicly celebrate any team member. Individual parent names, specific dollar amounts, and personal staff fund balances are always private. Principals see school-level data, not personal details.
How do I contribute to my school staff's gift fund?
Whenever you want to show appreciation — Teacher Appreciation Week, a birthday, the holidays, end of year — open the app, choose a staff member, pick an amount, and contribute. The whole thing takes about 30 seconds. Your child gets a printable card to hand-deliver. There's no obligation and no recurring charge.
Can a business sponsor teachers or donate to a school?
Yes. Businesses can become Treat Your Teacher partners and contribute directly to school staff appreciation funds. School Friend ($50–$250) supports 1–5 staff members. Staff Champion ($500–$1,000) covers an entire school's staff and includes a featured banner and principal shoutout. District Partner ($1,000+) spans multiple schools with a co-branded campaign and custom impact dashboard. When a business contributes, their name appears in the thank-you notifications sent to families. Fill out the business partner form on this page or email hello@treatyourteacher.biz.
Is a business sponsorship of schools tax-deductible?
Business sponsorships through Treat Your Teacher are typically deductible as a business expense. We recommend consulting your accountant for guidance specific to your situation. Treat Your Teacher does not issue charitable donation receipts — contributions are structured as business expenses, not charitable gifts.
